Every Episcopal school has its own unique identity as an academic institution as well as a faith community. Our very first task is to find out who you are, where you are going, and how you view the role of the chaplain in your current and future plans.
Although every search process will certainly proceed in its own unique way, we base our work upon a simple framework to effectively guide the search process from start to finish:
Site visit to the school to conduct interviews to assist in developing a job description (duties and responsibilities; desired qualifications and characteristics) for the new Chaplain.
Develop a plan for advertising the opening for a new Chaplain.
Network, identify and actively recruit prospective candidates.
Review resumes of candidates and screen candidates through telephone interviews and/or individual meetings.
Conduct a weekly telephone meeting regarding the status of the search and to identify upcoming tasks.
Present a recommended list of "semi-finalist" candidates for telephone/Skype interview.
Assist school stakeholders in the selection of finalists, develop the schedule for on campus interviews, and participate in the interview process in an advisory capacity.
Assist the school in the process and procedure for reference and background checks for finalist candidates.
Celebrate with the school leadership and community on the appointment of the new chaplain!
